Renewal of the collective bargaining agreement for the employees of the Philharmonie

Negotiations on the renewal of the collective bargaining agreement for the 180 employees of the public concert hall Grande-Duchesse Joséphine-Charlotte (“Philharmonie”), which began at the end of 2021, have been successfully concluded.

The management of the Philharmonie and the OGBL, the only trade union represented in the staff delegation, recently signed two amendments extending the current collective agreement for a total of 4 years (from January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2022 and from January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2025), while retaining the following improvements for the musicians of the Philharmonic Orchestra as well as for the administrative and technical staff:

For the year 2022:

  • Payment of a single bonus of 1000 euros

As of January 1, 2023:

  • Lump-sum increase of 50 euros of the salary scale steps (which corresponds to more than 1% of the payroll)
  • Alignment of the step advancement mechanism of the administrative staff salary scale with that of the musicians’ salary scale (1% instead of 0.8% per step advancement)
  • Payment of a second single bonus of 1000 euros
  • Improvement of the terms and conditions of the retirement bonus (from now on all employees between 57 and 64 years old will be able to benefit from it)
  • Introduction of a social leave of up to 3 working days per year for major incidents at home and major family incidents
