November gab es erneut einen schweren Arbeitsunfall auf einer Baustelle in Luxemburg. Wiederum hat ein Arbeitnehmer sein Leben gelassen, und mehrere seiner Kollegen sind verletzt worden.<\/p>\n<p>Der OGBL dr\u00fcckt hiermit den von dieser Trag\u00f6die heimgesuchten Familien sein tiefstes Beileid aus.<\/p>\n<p>Gleich im Anschluss daran hat der OGBL ein Dringlichkeitstreffen mit Nicolas Schmit, dem Arbeitsminister und mit Marco Boly, dem Direktor der Gewerbeinspektion (ITM) beantragt, damit Ma\u00dfnahmen, die verhindern, dass sich in Zukunft solche Dramen wiederholen, so schnell wie m\u00f6glich getroffen werden. In seinem Brief wiederholt der OGBL seine diesbez\u00fcglichen Forderungen: Versch\u00e4rfung der Kontrollen auf den Baustellen, betr\u00e4chtliche Erh\u00f6hung der Geldstrafen f\u00fcr die Unternehmen, die sich nicht ans Arbeitsgesetz halten, und Ausschluss aus den Baustellen und aus den \u00f6ffentlichen Ausschreibungen bei schwerwiegenden Straftaten.<\/p>\n<p>Es ist unannehmbar, dass Arbeitnehmer ihr Leben auf ihrem Arbeitsplatz verlieren oder sich dort verletzen. Die Sicherheit am Arbeitsplatz geh\u00f6rt f\u00fcr den OGBL zu den Priorit\u00e4ten und soll es auch f\u00fcr die politischen Verantwortlichen und f\u00fcr die Arbeitgeber werden.<\/p>\n<p>In diesem Zusammenhang begr\u00fc\u00dft der OGBL den Willen des Arbeitsministers, der Gewerbeinspektion neue gesetzliche Mittel zur Verf\u00fcgung zu stellen, um so zu versuchen dessen Arbeit effektiver zu gestalten.<\/p>\n<p>Der OGBL bedauert jedoch die Tatsache, dass diese Vorkehrungen nicht ausreichen, um die Sicherheit der Arbeitnehmer auf ihrem Arbeitsplatz zu gew\u00e4hrleisten. Ein ganzen Arsenal von Rechtsvorschriften kann nur effizient sein, wenn die Gewerbeinspektion \u00fcber gen\u00fcgend menschliche Mittel verf\u00fcgt, um auf den Baustellen pr\u00e4sent zu sein. Eine permanente Anwesenheit und erweiterte Kontrollen seitens der Gewerbeinspektoren w\u00fcrden einem echten sozialen Fortschritt in Bezug auf Gesundheit und Sicherheit der Arbeitnehmer gleichkommen.<\/p>\n<p><b>Mitgeteilt vom OGBL<br \/>\nam 18.
